Perhaps one of the most exciting projects we have worked on is for Centek, who
are a manufacturer of centralisers for the oil industry and supply companies like Mersk and
Halliburton amongst others. Having recently won the "Queens Award for Enterprise 2008" they are
a rapidly expanding business. We have worked alongside them for over five years now
and helped develop a software solution that analyses the performance of centralisers within
the oil well as part of the sales process.
Tony Cutmore, Managing Director of Centek said " ... the final result is a World leading
simulation package that substantially enhances our product sales team."
The system has recently been updated with a number of enhancements including 3D visualisation of
the well allowing engineers to view the pipe at various depths within the bore hole; dynamic jobs, which
allows engineers to analyse the forces as the pipe is lowered into the bore hole within under reamed
scenarios; and enhancing the user interface and engineering reports.
The 3D visualisation was really exciting as we had to provide a roaming camera allowing the
engineers to capture the most critical areas, although the dymanic jobs was the most challenging processing
hundreds of thousands of iterations!
