website design :: our process
Our approach to B2B website design and development is to ensure that we have a clear understanding of the scope of the project, its purpose and the target audience. It is important to establish the objectives of a website, so that you are able to measure its success.
We use a slightly different process for gathering the business requirements for a B2B website design
rather than software development, although there are obvious similarities. Once again our approach relies on
your business investing resources into the creation of the "definition of requirements" so you can be
confident that the website design will deliver your business needs and adhere to any corporate
branding you may already have. Using our approach you can be confident your expectations will be met
and there will not be any surprises!
- Once we have agreed the terms and conditions of the contract we will provide up to three design concepts based on our initial discussions;
- When one of the three designs has been selected, the design will be tweaked until you are happy with the concept (at this stage all work is supplied to you in the form of PDFs);
- The design will then be converted into HTML and published on a test domain, so that you can see the website for the first time via a web browser;
- The content of the website can then be added to the website, ready for launching;
- We use "organic search engine optimisation" techniques and we would need to agree the search terms early within this process. We would normally agree these in principle before starting the design work and then carry out any research required at this stage to refine the optimisation;
We are normally able to select a successful design within the three concepts provided, but in the event that none of the designs are acceptable we would provide additional designs based upon feedback from the first three (this work would be charged at our standard hourly rates) to cover work not anticipated within the fixed costs.
Once your website is launched, we will monitor your website's rankings on the Search Engine Results Position (SERP)s to ensure your site attracts your target audience. We will also set-up Google Webmaster tools and Google Analytics for clients that need to monitor traffic to their website.
For advice on Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns, we can refer you to one of our partners who specialise in this area.
